Before you call
What affects the price?
The size and number of stumps, how easy they are to reach, and whether you want the chips hauled away. A clear photo lets me give you an exact price, and quotes are always free.
Can you reach a stump behind a fence or in a tight corner?
Often, yes. I've ground stumps where three fence corners meet after other companies wouldn't try. Tell me the gate width and send a photo, and I'll tell you what's possible.
What happens to the chips?
I contain them while I work and clean up the area when I'm done. You can keep them for mulch or fill, or I can haul them away.
How deep do you grind?
I grind 6 to 10 inches below the surface, deep enough to put grass or plantings over the spot. If you have other plans for it, like a new tree or a patio, tell me and we'll talk through it.
Do I need to call 811 first?
No, I'll take care of it. I call Gopher State One Call (811) to have buried utility lines marked before I grind. Let me know about sprinklers or pet fence wire, since 811 doesn't mark those.
Can you finish the spot with topsoil and seed?
Yes, topsoil and seed are available if you'd like the spot finished.
